Sasmar Pharma acquires Aquatrove Biosciences: 3 things to know

Belgium-based Sasmar Pharmaceuticals recently acquired Aquatrove Biosciences, a Chicago-based biotech focused on the reproductive health and fertility market.

Here are three things to know about the agreement:

  1. Sasmar acquired all stock to the privately held biotech in exchange for an upfront payment of an undisclosed cash amount.
  2. Sasmar first partnered with Aquatrove in 2008 by commercializing the biotech’s patented fertility lubricant.
  1. The deal closed this week, officially transferring ownership of Aquatrove’s global portfolio of intellectual property, patents, and 14 years of research data to Sasmar.
