Here are three things to know.
1. Under the deal, Ipsen will acquire the rights to Prontalgine, an analgesic intended to treat moderate to severe pain. Sales for the drug, which is only available in France, increased at double-digit rates over the last four years, reports Reuters.
2. Ipsen will also acquire the antispasmodic treatment Buscopan, the laxative Suppositoria Glycerini and cough and flu products Mucothiol and Mucodyne, according to the report.
3. Sanofi is selling off the treatments as part of a requirement from the European Commission for a previous deal the drugmaker entered with Boehringer Ingelheim, according to the report.
