Dave Walker, senior vice president and chief supply chain officer at Renton, Wash.-based Providence, will retire in early November, according to an internal message shared with Becker’s.
Mr. Walker has served as chief supply chain officer since 2016 and became senior vice president in October 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Providence COO Darryl Elmouchi, MD, told employees that during Mr. Walker’s tenure, he and his team enabled Providence “to consistently offer quality, cost-effective patient care by partnering with clinical teams, non-clinical teams and external partners to maximize supply chain effectiveness.”
One recent example occurred in September, when Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine and Providence announced a partnership with Medline to develop an AI-powered supply chain tool.
Dr. Elmouchi said he will work with Mr. Walker and his team in the coming weeks to develop an interim supply chain leadership plan.
At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
