Proposed $70M Georgia plant to produce nitrile gloves

A proposed $70 million, 200,000-square-foot plant in Sandersville, Ga., owned by Washington, D.C.-based Redstone Investments Group, would produce nitrile gloves, William Curtis, CEO of Redstone Investments, told Becker's in a Dec. 9 phone interview.

Mr. Curtis told Becker's the plant would bring about 300 jobs to the central Georgia town. He said the company will work alongside operating partner Shield Technology, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based company owned by three women.

"We're very excited about supporting an all-women management team and ownership," Mr. Curtis said.

Mr. Curtis said the group's current operating company, RS Medical Supply, a Nevada company warehousing out of California, will provide oversight for the nitrile glove plant.

13WMAZ reported Dec. 2 a proposed agreement between Redstone and Washington County, Ga., officials would give ownership of the site to county's development authorities, who would lease it to the company.

Mr. Curtis said while there are no new developments at this time, the company hopes to close on the deal by May 2022.
