Premier comments on IMPACT Act

Charlotte, N.C.-based Premier sent a letter to the chairmen and ranking members on the Finance and Ways and Means Committees voicing its support for the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation Act of 2014.

The bipartisan legislation requires standardized data collection and assessment from post-acute healthcare providers.

“The IMPACT Act would allow Medicare to make such comparisons through uniform assessment among the various post-acute care settings, enabling improvements in hospital and post-acute care discharge planning,” reads the letter. “Ultimately, this information will enable CMS, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and other stakeholders to make determinations on how to reform post-acute care payment systems to improve patient outcomes and achieve better value.”
