Now-closed Indiana nursing home owed supplier $272K

Princeton (Ind.) Care Center abruptly closed in early September, Planet Princeton reported Sept. 4, leaving more than $272,000 in debt in a lawsuit with a medical supply company.

The company, called GeriMedix, sold supplies to the nursing home for decades, and it sued Princeton Care Center in April over claims that payments were missing or late for orders between October 2021 and April 2023.

In early March, the nursing home was notified of its outstanding debt of $195,000, and the administrator wrote three checks between $6,000 and $10,500 — with one of them bouncing, according to the lawsuit.

In mid-July, a judge ordered Princeton Care Center to pay the supply company $272,136, plus expenses for supplies, punitive damages and attorney fees, according to the news outlet. The nursing home closed Sept. 1 without notice after failing to make payroll.
