New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System will deploy Clarium’s computer vision-enabled supply capture and preference card optimization technology across eight hospitals and ASCs.
The partnership is designed to modernize surgical supply management, improve data accuracy at the point of care and reduce supply waste, according to a June 2 news release from Clarium.
Mount Sinai performs about 100,000 surgical procedures in main operating rooms annually. Through the deployment, the health system will use Clarium Vision, a platform that uses in-room cameras and AI models to automatically capture surgical supply usage and document supplies in real time.
The system will validate supply usage against centralized supply data and flag potential issues, including expired or recalled products. The resulting utilization data will feed into purchasing and preference card workflows to support supply management and perioperative operations, the release said.
