Medline doubles size of device reprocessing site in Oregon

Medline recently doubled the square footage of its facility in Redmond, Ore., that reprocesses medical devices slated for landfills.

The site increased by nearly 52,000 square feet, Medline said Nov. 1. The company's medical device reprocessing program is called ReNewal, and since 2014, ReNewal has diverted more than 10 million pounds of waste from landfills by reprocessing about 15 million products.

With its new extension, the Redmond location can reprocess more than 4,300 types of medical supplies, according to Medline. The site receives about 20,000 items and ships out 11,000 "like new" devices to customers every day.
