Medical device firm Steris has agreed to buy Xodus Medical, a maker of operating room patient positioning products, for $2.1 billion at closing, adding a line of OR consumables to its healthcare portfolio.
Xodus is best known for its Pink Pad patient positioning systems, which hold patients in place on the operating table. The company also sells products aimed at preventing hospital-acquired pressure injuries and, as of April, a patient warming and positioning system called the Hot Pink Pad, according to an Oct. 12 news release.
Steris expects Xodus to bring in about $245 million in revenue in 2026 and says the business has grown at double-digit rates. The deal is expected to close by Dec. 31, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
