Amazon’s OTC product line, named Basic Care, offers 60 products across a range of categories, including allergy and cold, digestive health, pain, and smoking prevention, among others.
To see how Amazon’s products stacked up, Business Insider compared the prices of several Amazon products against their generic OTC counterparts retailed at Walgreens, Target, CVS, Walmart and Rite Aid. The publication found products in the Basic Care line were often more affordable than those at larger pharmacies.
For example, Basic Care’s 500-count extra strength acetaminophen, the generic version of Tylenol, retails for $6.98, while the same 500-count medication is sold at Walgreens for $14.99.
