FDA, Google X Researchers Meet, Spur Rumors of New Device

Employees from the secretive Google X research group have met with members from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration who oversee and regulate eye devices and diagnostics for heart conditions, according to a Bloomberg report.

The report also mentions Google X researchers met with the FDA office that reviews medical devices for marketing approval on Dec. 18, 2013.

The reported meeting has spurred a wave of rumors that Google may be developing a new medical product.
