Indianapolis-based Community Health Network is deploying Clarium’s AI-powered supply chain automation platform to reduce surgical supply costs across its nine hospitals.
The platform will identify cost-saving opportunities in surgical settings by optimizing physician preference cards and helping reduce waste, lower supply costs and improve transparency across the health system’s supply chain operations, according to an Aug. 5 news release. The platform also automates optimization of tens of thousands of surgical preference cards, which can become outdated over time and contribute to overpurchasing and waste.
Community Health Network said one-third of its operating expenses are tied to the supply chain. The health system expects the deployment to target millions of dollars in annual savings on surgical spending while reducing the time teams spend managing surgical supplies.
