Argon Medical to acquire US Biopsy

Plano, Texas-based Argon Medical Devices has acquired Franklin, Ind.-based Promex Technologies, which does business as US Biopsy.

US Biopsy manufactures soft-tissue biopsy products, such as the TLAB Transjugular Liver Biopsy Instrument. Through the acquisition, Argon Medical becomes one of two companies competing in the transjugular biopsy market, according to the company.

“This acquisition allows us to leverage our current soft tissue biopsy portfolio and further demonstrates our commitment to growth in the interventional space,” said Argon Medical president George Leondis.
