At the conference, Craig “Kip” Davis, who recently completed two terms as ASHMM president, passed the role to George Pearson, associate director of SCO contracts at Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health.

The ASHMM aims to improve procurement and distribution systems in healthcare by promoting collaboration among purchasing and materials managers, according to a news release shared with Becker’s on Dec. 3. The organization works with hospitals, healthcare agencies and businesses to encourage standardization and streamline processes within the supply chain.

The organization continues to provide its members with resources to enhance their knowledge and effectiveness in materials management while also offering a platform for the exchange of industry ideas and best practices, the release said.

At the Becker's 11th Annual IT + Revenue Cycle Conference: The Future of AI & Digital Health, taking place September 14–17 in Chicago, healthcare executives and digital leaders from across the country will come together to explore how AI, interoperability, cybersecurity, and revenue cycle innovation are transforming care delivery, strengthening financial performance, and driving the next era of digital health.
