1. Sanofi to buy US hemophilia drugmaker for $11.6B
Paris-based Sanofi will acquire all outstanding shares of Waltham, Mass.-based Bioverativ for approximately $11.6 billion.

Biopharmaceutical giant Celgene will purchase Juno Therapeutics for $9 billion in a move to expand in the increasingly competitive cancer treatment landscape.

PTC Therapeutics raised the price of its muscular dystrophy treatment by 9 percent, to more than $65,000 annually for a general dosage, reviving a drug price controversy that arose last year.

5. Teva’s board of directors take 50 percent pay cut amid financial woes
After announcing plans to lay off 14,000 employees to shore up finances, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries is taking another step to bolster its financial profile. Its board of directors decided last week to take a 50 percent pay cut until further notice. 

6. Mylan reaffirms $1B share buyback plan
Mylan confirmed Monday it will complete a $1 billion share repurchase plan, which was previously approved by its board of directors. 

7. Glaxo replaces 40% of top staff, including CEO, in 9 months to spur growth
GlaxoSmithKline replaced roughly 50 of the 125 top managers, including the company’s former CEO, since Emma Walmsley began in her role as head of the company last April. She said the restructuring represents an effort to increase diversity within the team and bring new ideas and skills to Glaxo’s workforce.
