4 latest FDA approvals

Here are the four latest drugs or medical devices approved by the Food and Drug Administration this week.

1. Imbruvica is the first FDA-approved therapy for the treatment of chronic graft versus host disease, which occurs when immune cells from donated tissues — often stem cells from donated bone marrow — attack the new host's body cells.

2. Easyret photocoagulator laser is used to perform ocular laser surgery.

3. Idhifa is used to treat adults with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia who carry a specific genetic mutation.

4. Abilify Maintena is a once-daily injectable antipsychotic drug for intramuscular use.
