The new production site is the result of a joint venture between DePre, its three founding companies and 34 Premier member health systems, according to a Sept. 25 news release from Premier. An expected operation date was not shared.

“To support the venture long term, health system co-investors signed multi-year commitments to purchase a portion of the isolation gowns used each year from DePre,” the release said. When it’s operational, the manufacturing plant will be able to make two gowns per second.
