Cleveland Clinic to offer second opinion services to patients in Mexico

Cleveland Clinic unveiled its latest international partnership Dec. 7, saying it will work with Previta, Mexico's largest hospital-at-home provider, to provide second opinion services to patients with complex cases.

"The collaboration with Previta will enable Cleveland Clinic specialists to provide peer-to-peer consults to our clinical partners and their patients in Mexico," Curtis Rimmerman, MD, chairman of international operations at Cleveland Clinic, said in a news release. "This partnership will unlock access to more than 3,500 Cleveland Clinic physicians across subspecialties without the need to travel the world."

Specifically, physicians at Previta will be able to work with Cleveland Clinic experts on reviewing complex cases and creating personalized treatment plans.

Cleveland Clinic representatives in the country will also be able to coordinate follow-up appointments and in-person treatment, including travel arrangements for patients at the most convenient hospital within the system.

In October, the health system announced a similar collaboration in Chile. It established a joint advisory council with RedSalud, the largest private healthcare network in Chile, to share best practices and strategic guidance around patient care and growth.
