The hospitals named to both lists were based on results of the ninth annual Hospital Strength Index survey from iVantage Health Analytics, which ranked hospitals across 50 indicators and eight pillars.
The lists included 19 first-time critical access hospitals and 24 first-time rural and community hospitals.
