Comparing population growth over five-year periods helps identity areas in the U.S. with the most recent strong upswings in population.  

Coldwater, Ohio-based Mercer County Joint Township Community Hospital has received a 2022 leadership award from the Chartis Center for Rural Health for excellence in outcomes.

Six of the 10 happiest U.S. cities are in California — in part because of residents' high incomes, according to a ranking published Dec. 20. 

Cities in Florida and Northeastern states fill many of the top 20 retirement hot spots in the U.S., according to an analysis released Dec. 16 by StorageCafe, a nationwide self-storage search website and part of Yardi.

A 2020 report names small cities in the South and West among the fastest growing in the country, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's data on population gains from 2010 to 2019.

The consumer price index jumped by 7.1 percent in November from a year earlier. But in a dozen cities, the 12-month change to the CPI was much greater. 

Twenty-three healthcare companies made the Management Top 250, a ranking developed by the Drucker Institute.

Clinical care makes up one of the five categories that inform America's Health Rankings for 2022 from the United Health Foundation. Zeroing in on this single category, Massachusetts leads the way and Texas trails the nation. 

The Leapfrog Group has recognized 115 hospitals with its annual Top Hospital Award in 2022. This includes 32 top general hospitals, 13 top rural hospitals, 58 top teaching hospitals and 12 top children's hospitals. 

United Health Foundation released its 2022 America's Health Rankings Dec. 6, which analyzes the overall health of the 50 states and marks the return of the rankings after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
