Methodist Health System (Dallas). With the support of the Methodist Church, a group of ministers and civic leaders opened Dallas Methodist Hospital in 1927. That hospital was the foundation for Methodist Health System, which has grown to include 24 family health centers and the Charles A. Sammons Trauma and Critical Care Tower, opened in 2014. Methodist Health System earned the Texas Award for Performance Excellence in 2015 and Dallas Business Journal named the system one of the top workplaces in the city that same year.
