Health systems recognized among ‘most ethical companies’ in 2026

Two health systems have been recognized on Ethisphere’s 2026 list of the “World’s Most Ethical Companies.”

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare and New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health were included on the March 18 list, which also features health insurers and medical technology companies. In total, 138 companies were recognized across 40 industries and 17 countries.

It is the 16th time HCA Healthcare has been included on the list, according to a March 18 health system news release shared with Becker’s.

“This recognition reflects our colleagues’ commitment across the organization to upholding high standards, making value-driven decisions and doing business the right way, every day,” Wendy Warren, senior vice president and chief ethics and compliance officer, said in the release.

Here are the healthcare organizations included on the 2026 list in the healthcare providers, products, insurance and pharmaceutical categories, along with their headquarters:

  • CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (Baltimore)
  • DocGo (New York City)
  • Eli Lilly and Co. (Indianapolis)
  • Ferrer (Barcelona, Spain)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.)
  • Henry Schein (Melville, N.Y.)
  • Labcorp (Burlington, N.C.)
  • Lonza (Basel, Switzerland)
  • Medtronic (Galway, Ireland)
  • Northwell Health (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
  • Pfizer (New York City)
  • Sanofi (Paris, France)
  • Zimmer Biomet (Warsaw, Ind.)

Ethisphere’s ethical quotient rating system requires companies to answer more than 240 questions on ethics, compliance, governance and social impact. A panel of experts then vets and evaluates applicants. Read more about the application and evaluation process here.
