To determine which companies would comprise the 63rd annual list, Fortune examined each organization’s total revenue for their respective 2016-2017 fiscal years.
The companies listed among the Fortune 500 represent approximately two-thirds of the United States’ global domestic product, and account for nearly $12 trillion in revenue and $890 billion in profits.
Here are how five pharmaceutical companies ranked among the 2017 Fortune 500, from highest to lowest rank.
