Correction: 10 states with the most overworked nurses

Becker’s Hospital Review published a story June 27 titled, “10 states with the most overworked nurses.” The article cited a ranking from Medicare Health Plans, which based the ranking of overworked states on data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Kaiser Family Foundation. If a state had a higher citizen-to-nurse ratio than other states, Medicare Health Plans considered nurses in those states to be overworked. Upon closer review, we found the analysis to be based on questionable reasoning and logic, and for this reason the story was retracted and unpublished July 13.
