Massachusetts is the best state for working dads, while New Mexico is the worst, according to an analysis published June 9 by WalletHub.
The personal finance company compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across four dimensions: economic and social well-being, work-life balance, child care, and health.
WalletHub evaluated those dimensions using 22 metrics, ranging from average workday length for men to the percentage of men in good or better health. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for working dads. Weighted averages across all metrics determined each location’s overall score.
