Siemens Healthineers will relocate Varian manufacturing operations from Baja, Mexico, to Palo Alto, Calif. Varian produces radiotherapy, radiosurgery, proton therapy and brachytherapy systems and software.
The move will add about 50 manufacturing jobs to the operation, according to a May 14 news release from the company.
Siemens Healthineers also is opening two supply chain depots — one in Dayton, N.J., and another in Manteca, Calif. — to increase equipment part availability by “nearly a third” and improve delivery flexibility, the release said.
The company will also invest $141 million to establish a Siemens Healthineers Experience Center in Charlotte, N.C., to help providers “digitize and transform care delivery.”
