RWJBarnabas hospital names radiology chair

Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center has appointed Basil Hubbi, MD, as chair of its department of radiology.

Dr. Hubbi joins the hospital as an RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group physician, according to a Jan. 29 news release. He is a diagnostic radiologist and clinical assistant professor at Newark-based Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. His background includes body and breast imaging, academic medicine and program leadership.

He previously served as a residency program director and has authored more than 15 publications on imaging innovation and patient education. He has also led initiatives to expand access to screening services through grant-funded mobile mammography programs.

As chair, Dr. Hubbi will oversee imaging services at Jersey City Medical Center and collaborate with clinical teams to maintain quality, safety and patient-centered care.
