OrthoCincy, an independent physician practice also based in Edgewood, Ky., donated $10,000 to support scholarships for radiology technician students, according to a Nov. 6 news release from the university.
Covington, Ky.-based CHNK Behavioral Health committed $50,000 in scholarships for students in the Master of Social Work program as part of the initiative.
The donations will be made through and matched by the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund, which was established in 2023 by the Kentucky state legislature to address the commonwealth’s shortage of healthcare workers.
As part of the scholarship, students are guaranteed employment with the sponsoring healthcare organization after graduation, the release said.
