Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health said about 75% of its radiologists with access to an AI-assisted reporting tool are actively using it as the health system modernizes its imaging workflows.
The tool generates draft impressions for radiologists to review rather than requiring them to dictate the impression from scratch, according to an Oct. 12 news release. Most of Intermountain’s radiology enterprise has had access to the capability for approximately six months.
Intermountain is at different stages of adoption across its imaging sites. The health system is also looking toward capabilities that could summarize prior reports, provide contextual clinical information and help optimize radiology reports.
Kenneth Nowers, MD, medical director of imaging operations at Intermountain Health, said the organization is focused on integrating the technology into radiologists’ existing workflows.
