Edward Steiner, MD, radiologist, medical director and chief of WellSpan’s York Advanced Prostate Care, shared with Becker’s how the technology works and affects patient experience.
Instead of manually drawing and segmenting treatment areas through multiple MRI images, the Tulsa-Pro technology uses AI to define cancer cell boundaries, which a radiologist then reviews before treatment begins. This accuracy reduces complications and improves patient outcomes and experience, Dr. Steiner said.
“When I am looking to provide the best care to treat prostate cancer — precision is key,” Dr. Steiner said. “With [this tool], our patients receive a faster analysis and require less time under anesthesia.”
