Geisinger appoints new radiology chair

After serving on an interim basis since April, Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger officially appointed Scotty Collins, MD, its chair of radiology.

Dr. Collins stepped into his permanent role Nov. 20, according to a Nov. 22 news release from Geisinger.

Dr. Collins was Geisinger’s vice chair of clinical operations for radiology for 10 years before serving as interim chair. During his time at Geisinger he has implemented efficiency and productivity standards, improved clinical care through shortened turnaround times and recruited more than 50 radiologists to the system, the release said.
