GE Healthcare to acquire radiopharmaceutical company for $945M in cash

GE Healthcare announced Oct. 5 a definitive agreement to acquire SOFIE Biosciences, a Positron Emission Tomography radiopharmaceutical company, for $945 million in cash. 

SOFIE Biosciences manufactures PET radiopharmaceuticals including Flyrcado (flurpiridaz F18 injection), which the FDA approved in 2024 to detect myocardial ischemia and infarction. Trilantic North America currently owns SOFIE. 

GE Healthcare and Trilantic North America expect the deal to close in the first half of 2027, pending regulatory approval and other closing conditions.
