Mutual Life, Aon Hewitt Partner to Offer Medicare Coverage

North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Durham, N.C., has partnered with Lincolnshire, Ill.-based human resources solutions company Aon Hewitt to provide health plans to black Medicare beneficiaries, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.

The partnership offers free support and access to a national network of Medicare plans through Aon Hewitt's retiree health insurance marketplace, Aon Hewitt Navigators, according to the report. Additionally, North Carolina Mutual's clients will be able to use tools to help them find the best plan for their care needs. The Aon Hewitt marketplace also gives consumers access to insurance agents specializing in Medicare, and beneficiaries will be able to consult with personal health advocates.

"The process of selecting the right Medicare insurance plan can be challenging for many seniors," said Matt Mann, general manager of Aon Hewitt Navigators, in a news release. "We are proud to partner with North Carolina Mutual to help ensure that seniors in the African-American community find a plan that will protect them at an affordable price."
