Mr. Harbaugh’s wife is newly pregnant, and their family physician advised them to not travel to American Samoa since the territory is experiencing active Zika transmission — there are 29 locally acquired Zika cases in the territory as of June 29, according to the CDC.

Zika virus infections in pregnant women have been linked to birth defects and miscarriages.

Some would-be Olympic athletes have opted to skip the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro because of Zika concerns.
