Four things to know:
1. The CDC confirmed 387 measles cases in 15 states between Jan. 1 and March 28. In 2018, the agency reported 372 total cases.
2. The 2019 figure marks the second-highest number of cases reported since 2000, when the CDC declared measles eliminated in the U.S. In 2014, the agency confirmed a record 667 cases, reports CNN.
3. The following states have reported measles cases in 2019: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
4. Six measles outbreaks have occurred this year in New York, Washington, California, Texas and New Jersey. The outbreaks are linked to international travelers who brought the virus back from countries like Israel, where major outbreaks are occurring.
