Swedish Ballard is the first hospital in the state of Washington to earn the honor.
The Pathway to Excellence designation acknowledges healthcare organizations that foster positive practice environments where nurses can excel. Designated organizations have met ANCC’s 12 Pathway Practice Standards to creating an ideal nursing practice environment.
According to Swedish Ballard’s Chief Executive and Nurse Executive Jennifer Graves, RN, the designation is a “career highlight.”
“I knew I was entering a place with incredible potential and felt that the caregivers here were firmly rooted in their commitment to each other, their patients and to the profession of nursing,” said Ms. Graves. “I am incredibly proud of the more than 200 RNs at Swedish Ballard who continue to set their sights on creating an unrivaled place to work and seek care.”
