The 2012 user comparative database report displays feedback on patient safety culture from 1,128 hospitals and 567,703 hospital staff respondents. According to the report, the areas of strength for most hospitals were teamwork within units; supervisor/manager expectations and actions promoting patients safety; organizational learning and management support for patient safety.
The report, however, also outlined several areas for potential improvement, such as nonpunitive responses to error, handoffs and transitions and staffing. This report also includes a chapter on trends over time for 650 hospitals that administered the survey and submitted data more than once.
