The survey polled orthopedic leaders at 100 acute-care hospitals in the United States. Other key findings of the survey include:
• In 2013, 38 percent of hospitals had annual volume of 500 to 999 total joint replacement procedures.
• Fifty-eight percent of respondents saw their hospital as leaders in local market share for orthopedics.
• Forty-two percent of participants said their facilities are participating in a joint replacement registry
• Fifty-one percent of respondents said that their hospitals are participating or considering participating in the Joint Commission Center of Excellence initiative.
