Surfacide to send UV disinfection system to West Africa

An American start-up company, Surfacide, is working with the government of Sierra Leone to donate one of its UV disinfection systems to help sanitize hospital rooms from many viruses, including Ebola, and protect healthcare workers.

The company was featured on a Fox News segment Wednesday.

The Surfacide system, which includes multiple towers, uses lasers to measure the room. The towers then emit UV energy, which kills germs and other pathogens.

According to Fox News, 40 Surfacide systems are already in use in the United States.
