The legislation reconciles separate preparedness bills passed by the House and Senate last year. The common preparedness reauthorization legislation was approved by the House last month and will now move to the Senate floor.
The legislation, if passed, would reauthorize the hospital preparedness program, the emergency system for advance registration of volunteer health professionals, the medical reserve corps and other critical preparedness activities though 2017, according to the report.
