Study: 36.5% of ED Residents Don’t Report Needlestick Injuries

More than a third of emergency medicine residents who had a needlestick injury did not report it to the employee health department, according to a study in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.

From January to February 2011, 208 Illinois emergency medicine residents responded to a survey on percutaneous injuries.
