The report, “Implementing the IOM Future of Nursing Report-Part III: How Nurses Are Solving Some of Primary Care’s Most Pressing Challenges,” is part of an RWJF series on implementing the Institute of Medicine’s 2010 report, “The Future of Nursing,” according to an AHA News Now report.
The goals of the new models for nursing roles are to expand access to care, improve quality and reduce costs. To accomplish these goals, many new models have given nurses primary care roles.
