Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York City). As a participant in former Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Hospital Challenge, Memorial Sloan Kettering has increased the efficiency of its heating and cooling systems, installed energy-efficient lighting and committed to shutting off computers when they are not in use. The cancer center’s outpatient facility in West Harrison, N.Y., is LEED Gold certified and Memorial Sloan Kettering has several other construction projects in the works that will seek LEED certification. Memorial Sloan Kettering is a Practice Greenhealth Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award honoree for 2015, as well as a member of Practice Greenhealth’s Greening the OR, Healthy Food, Climate and Green Building Circles of Excellence.
