Tulane will receive nearly $2.3 million to repair its medical school building, part of the Tulane University Health Science Center, while LSU will received nearly $1.7 million as compensation for losses suffered at 23 of its healthcare properties.
A separate FEMA grant was used to build the interim LSU Public Hospital, and another award for damage suffered by the now-shuttered Charity Hospital is being used to build the new University Medical Center currently under construction, according to the report.
