Lakeview Hospital (Stillwater, Minn.). Lakeview Hospital’s green initiatives focus on reducing waste and creating healthy, sustainable food options for patients, families and staff members. In 2017, HealthPartners entered into a partnership with Urban Organics, an organic aquaponic farm, to provide the system’s hospitals, including Lakeview, with nutritious salads. From 2015 to 2016, the hospital reduced plastic landfill refuse by 5.4 tons, reduced food waste by 4.6 tons and has recycled 2,400 pounds of electronic waste. Practice Greenhealth honored Lakeview Hospital with the 2016 and 2017 Emerald Award, 2016 Greening the OR Award and 2016 Making Medicine Mercury Free Award.
