Johns Hopkins Hospital became a member of Practice Greenhealth in 2014 and has won the Greenhealth Emerald Award from Practice Greenhealth for three consecutive years, most recently in 2016. In 2015, the hospital’s green accomplishments include instituting Meatless Mondays and reducing chicken services, installing 65,000 square feet of green roofing and converting to LED lighting in 33 operating rooms, among other accomplishments. Johns Hopkins Hospital also has some of the greenest ORs in the country, evidenced by its placement in Practice Greenhealth’s Greening the OR Circle this year.
