The health centers are intended to increase access for 384,000 more students to primary health services for acute or chronic illnesses and prevention.
The funding comes from the School-Based Health Center Capital Program, a $200 million provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act paid in installments through 2013. This was the third of those installments, with the final $75 million slotted for fiscal 2013.
