For the week ending Nov. 4, 1,962 patients with laboratory-confirmed flu cases were admitted to a hospital — up from 1,607 the week prior.
Four more notes:
- A total of 46 states are still reporting minimal to low flu activity, though cases are rising across the country.
- Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Washington D.C., and Alabama are the only areas reporting moderate flu activity at this time.
- As of Nov. 4, influenza A accounted for a total of 77.1% of cases, while 22.9% were influenza B.
- During the current 2023-2024 flu season, the CDC estimates that there have been 490,000 illnesses, 5,300 hospitalizations, and 330 deaths.
