The Commission on Review of Taxpayer Funded Hospital Districts will examine Gov. Scott’s contention that the hospitals are using public funds to unfairly compete with private facilities. Gov. Scott said the panel would review how physicians at these hospitals are paid, whether they serve a broad enough population and if taxpayers truly benefit from them.
“I am confident this new commission will protect Florida taxpayers,” Gov. Scott said. “At the same time, the commission’s guidance will help provide Floridians a high-quality healthcare system.”
