Equicare will incorporate The Samfund into their booth at the ASTRO 2016 Annual Meeting to increase awareness of local resources for cancer survivors. Equicare will also make a corporate donation to the organization.
“The services provided by The Samfund are invaluable for young cancer survivors,” states Equicare CEO Len Grenier. “One of the reasons a company like Equicare exists is to fill a gap in cancer care, using technology to coordinate clinical follow up and patient engagement. However, we can’t fill every gap, and organizations like The Samfund are an amazing resource for survivors looking to live well following treatment, pay medical bills, or complete an education.”
Samantha Watson, CEO of The Samfund adds, “Equicare Health’s technology aligns with the patient-centered care we’d love to see in the cancer community, and their support enables us to continue moving forward in our work by providing additional resources and grants. We are grateful for this opportunity and for Equicare’s partnership.”
Equicare is also proud to support the ASTRO Survivor Circle program. The Survivor Circle honors cancer survivors in the cities where ASTRO’s Annual Meeting is held, and this year The Samfund is one of two organizations receiving the Survivor Circle Grant.
